Grenada Tour Review: Sunset Cruise on the Catamaran, Starwind

Posted by Monja in SightsReviews and Tips

We are always getting requests to describe tours offered on the island, so we have decided to give first hand accounts on what they are like, by going on several of them ourselves.

Its a little ironic that, even though Grenada is our home, we have never gone on a sunset cruise. What we found out, was that it is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the end of the day.

Return to Gouyave Fish Friday....

Posted by Monja in SightsReviews and TipsIsland lifeEvents

Yesterday we went to the Fish Friday in Gouyave.

We had not gone there in a couple of months, so were expecting that it had changed somewhat. Thankfully, it was just as good.

The food was still great, with a wide variety to choose from. The people are all quite friendly and pleasant to deal with and there is a well organised police presence, although they only have to help organise the parking and traffic.

We got there a little early, so it was not crowded and we had our choice of whatever we wanted.

We did not expect to see a lot of tourists there, but were a little surprised when the crowd started arriving and the majority of them were visitors. (If you like lobster or crabback, then I would suggest you get there early, as they tend to sell out quite quickly.)

Grenada: Hidden Waterfall

Posted by Monja in Sights

Grenada has several more waterfalls and cascades than what you normally see in the brochures.
The nice thing is that most are pretty secluded and definitely off the beaten track. That means you usually need a guide or someone to point you in the right direction, and good hiking boots.......(i would suggest taking a guide, just to be sure you actually FIND the falls you are looking for).

Au Coin Waterfall

Posted by neil in Sights

Over the weekend, we decided to take a hike to Concord second falls - Au Coin Falls.

1st Concord Water fall - the entrance
We had visited the falls twice since hurricane Ivan, more than 4 years ago, and were curious to see what changes there had been, and whether the trees and vegetation had regrown.

The difference was astounding! It is a hike that I would recommend in a heartbeat!

We parked by the main falls, Concord, and started up the trail above, which will eventually take you to the other two falls - (yes, there are three falls at Concord.

You don't need a guide for the second falls (Au Coin), but you will definitely need one for the third falls, as the trail is not well marked.
