Hello Monja and Neil,
my first post ever, anywhere! The motivation to join this forum is twofold. First to thank you both for taking the time to set it all up. Can't be easy to work on this when there's so many beautiful distractions around you. The second is that my husband and I will be moving to Carriacou in the not too distant future and have been logging on as 'guests' for a while now. Seemed like it was time to join up and join in. We will be on island in December, hoping to talk to a few builders about getting some foundations started for our house. This has been a dream for many years, now it's nearly reality we're both pretty nervous as this is a venture that neither of us have ever experienced.
Your webcam makes us all the more determinded to make the move, thanks for keeping it running.

Monja and Neil

As you know I don't post very often on the Travel Forum because I do not know much about the tourist spots.

It has been a delight to get to know the two of you, though the beginning of our friendship right after Ivan was a trying time for Grenada.

Soon we will end a 3 year period of very little time in Grenada and will have our own house back again.

When I think about Grenada I think about a wonderfully small island nation that I will cherish spending most of my days in. A place that does not export war, and where most people are good to one another because if they are not then someone may tell their mother and then there would be hell to pay.

I have had to learn a great deal about patience as we have rebuilt a house before Ivan with our own hands and labor and then almost immediately started over after Ivan this time using various contractors. One of the things I have come to understand is that as long as it may take situations will work out well in the end.

After Ivan as I read news reports I decided again that I love Grenada and the size of life there. One of the things that pointed this out to me was a major headline telling of the distribution of 28 bred goats to various farmers and the long term benefits to many more people after 5 generations of growth. Any nation where 28 goats are a great positive factor is the size that I think will suit me.

So I don't know much about the tourist spots but have gotten to know about hardware stores, lumber yards, the local market and fish market. I have also developed some very good friendships that I am sure will last my life time.

I'm glad you started this blog Monja. I will be very interested to see how it developes. - Jon

Mr. CCSpice and I are 5-time visitors to the Island(2 before Ivan, 3 times since)We usually can be found not far from La Sagesse Bay! Grenada is very special to us, and we enjoy reading the Travel Forum & checking the site to keep connected.
I'll be sure to check your blog frequently.
